Apart from being one of Rome's greatest emperors who have to their credit the safe-keeping of the rich empire from Parthians and Germans , Aurelius is also considered to be one of the most renowned intellectual personalities. Aurelius' intellectual endeavors were spearheaded by his interest in Stoicism – the philosophy that focuses on fate, reason & self-restraint.
