With or Without Me

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By Sanniah Hassan  With or without me, You should be happy, that’s What my parents always taught me. I recalled their words as I tried to Hold my tears at bay. Today I would leave it all behind. As I stepped into another life, A new family I would leave behind my past, My web, my nest. I would be leaving behind the people I loved the most To start something new, Another family. I was wearing my heart on my sleeve, Though reluctantly, I was moving on. My heart felt like it would explode any minute, It was as if a thousand butterflies were fluttering within me, What could I call this feeling of the in-between? Being good at playing with words was of no use at all today. What can a girl do as she leaves her memories behind? What does she do, when faced with this unwelcomed change? I tried to express myself, But I found it futile. From this moment on, I would not be me, but we. I was movin...

Lady Lazarus!

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By Sanniah Hassan   You promised me a forever A happily ever after, How crazy was I? To think you could ever tell me the truth. You ruined me for me, And for the world, I desired for myself You made me think all were Just the same, that all were you. How selfish a creature you were - But my dear I know what I’m worth, And I know that I deserve much better Then whatever  you   had to offer. So adieu amigo! I hope to Never see your  face again. I hope to soar like a bird in flight Who conquers all her hearts’ Desires… what a small word - Insignificant to some, But a world in itself for my perception. I thank you, for letting me go and breaking me, So the man worthy of me could help in healing me Because he deserves my loving more than you ever did I thank you from the bottom of my being That you showed the other side of what The world could be - Ugly! And opened ...

What's in a Colour?

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By Sanniah Hassan What’s in a colour? It’s just but that Why do people wish, To be white Not black? Why do some people Desire for things Not theirs Like being white, While being Black by birth Or even in rare cases -  Black when White Why are we so conscious of colour? When in our subconscious We do know  That it is anything but Colour just makes us different It doesn’t define us Doesn’t make us who we are Then why are people so conscious of colour When it matters not at large! All my life I’ve been told That I’m better And why might you ask? ‘cause I’m fairer by skin Yet I choose to believe as some few people Around the world Colour is not who I am And it does not make me, me It is just a means To recognise  me In a room full of those just like me Then why is it that people Wish to be of a colour And not be happy with What they are There ...

Oh, Milton!

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By Sanniah Hassan Oh, Milton! Why thwart god’s beloved, Poor, Eve Blamed for misfortunes, Destined for Man. Why not blame Adam? Or Satan perhaps? Why only find fault, With Eve? Is it wrong to Hope, for more than one’s fair share? If so, feel free to find Eve, Guilty. However, you mustn’t Forget You need two hands To clap Like you need Adam With Eve, to commit, The Greatest Sin, of Man. Sunshine

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By Sanniah Hassan The sun shines deep, down on me, And it makes me feel All happy and giddy, inside It gives me warmth And joy, That I never can describe. The sun shines like an incandescent light, And shows me where I come from, and where I belong. It shows me where to go. It shines its rays on me, And makes me feel comfort and bliss, Like never before. What is it about the sun? That makes me so? When I question if I belong? It shines on me like a bright new day, A new start, A re-birth, one of a kind, It makes the doubts go away. Like a mother watching over her child. It makes me indescribably comfortable, It keeps me fuzzy and warm. And I know that I do, I do belong, no matter what the haters say, There is a place for misfits like me in this cruel world. And I know because the sun shines Deep down upon me, and chases the pain away, The sun shines its rays and love, like a mot...

Minute Effort Counts

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By: Sana Bukhat Tiny drops of water,  Do have the power, To make a river. Small words of Love, Can raise Above, A grieved Heart. Little act of Kindness,  Turns into brightness, A Dark Life.  So, Broaden your minds,  Think differently. Open your hearts,  Listen carefully. Sweeten your tongues, Soothe Lovingly.  World is replete with misery, People are exhausted.  Instead of just worry, Go Ahead. A Slightest effort of yours, Can make a huge difference. A single person can’t handle everyone,  But at least, someone should be there for someone. Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below. Who Am I?

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By: Anum Chaudhry I wake up every day, looking at the mirror and ask myself, who am I? Am I someone important? Am I a pop star? Am I loved by anyone? Does anybody know me? Millions of thoughts drain my mind, are they relevant? Am I that worthy to be thought off? A life not so awesome but why so lone? Why so much pain? why no trust exists, does it exist at all? Then I see the people there, some living beyond continents or within. I see the joy and happiness that I have seen or given. Guilt over shadows but light finds its way back, When I see myself now, I know I am important to some. So even if I fall, even the fallen arise. So shall I and for the people who matter. Superwoman, Super-tall

© The Sanniah Experience! (TSE) By Sanniah Hassan What if I told you, I don't care what you think! What if I told you, I already love myself! My skin; My hair; My face, My all... I love each Freckle And bump, I call it all my own. I don't care what you think Because I am superwoman , Super-tall. I am phenomenal! I may be a woman Yet I know how to stand, And stand tall I do. My height – And my face May contradict My thoughts. I may be short But I know how to stand tall! I am superwoman , Super-tall. Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
