The most positivist happening in the universe is the birth of a human being. To be a mother is the best Blessing bestowed upon a woman. Isn’t it amazing that a woman possesses ample power and strength to bear a foetus for nine months and gives birth like a lioness? But still, this typical society considers her feeble and weak and actually turns her so with its bitter attitude.
This is the 21st century and concepts regarding Pregnancy and Birth are no more a hidden secret. Social platforms, the internet, versatile doctors and gynaecologists can be approached to help. Yet, a lot of negativity, confusion and fear continue to exist among the new generation.
It’s literally not rocket science. Birthing is there since the emergence of life on earth. It is ‘Nature’ and nature always takes its course
It’s nothing new, then why so much fear ladies? This is even scientifically proven that a woman’s body is naturally designed for birthing and has enough physical power to bear it.
The most problematic thing is the unusual social attitudes and norms present even in this modern era. Social pressures, comparisons and specifically myths involving Pregnancy and Labour have made this natural process tough for women, particularly for a new Mother.
First of all, all myths are mere myths of course and quite unreal. So:
- Let them be just gossips, listen and enjoy.
- No need to take them on your nerves.
- The more you care, the deeper you will be trapped.
It is the need of the hour that we should search and spread more and most positive about pregnancy and labour.
Most women go through complicated pregnancies. It's truly hard as well as physically and emotionally exhausting, but easier if you can get acknowledged enough about your complication. Don't just rely on your doctors' words. Inquire more till your satisfaction and always take a second opinion. It’s your Right!

Trust me, acknowledgement always leads to the best solutions.
Those who remained rather normal throughout this phase should educate themselves about “Hypnobirthing”. It is a process of self-hypnosis to cope with pain and relax yourself during labour. It teaches you about breathing techniques to calm yourself and for an easier birthing experience.
Relax! It's not psychological hypnotism. It's just self-hypnosis because you know best about your body.
Women go through numerous hormonal changes during pregnancy, it is normal and varies from person to person but, depression during pregnancy and Postpartum Depression is a real thing. Our conservative social mentality predominately restricts women to go to a psychologist. The majority considers it a taboo but;
‘Neither every pressure is to be taken, nor every myth is to be considered.’
It is necessary to get your depression sorted. So:
- Do not take yourself for granted.
- Involve your partner in every matter [It will be a plus point and you can get his maximum support].
- Awareness is very much needed.
- Your own positivity can make a clear path for you through all this negativity [whether it’s about complications, fear, myths, gender of the baby or even your own choices].
Remember, ‘to be cognisant, confident and confirmed is the best way to defend.’
