Ambrose Bierce who is also known as, Ambrose Gwinnett Bierce, was a renowned American writer. Remembered as one of America's finest short story writers, Bierce was also considered a poet, journalist, and Civil War veteran, respectively. Born in Ohio, United States, Bierce passed away in Mexico. He is also known for his contributions to one of literature's most momentous movements, referred to as, realism.
According to Encyclopaedia Britannica, Bierce was an "American newspaperman, wit, satirist, and author of sardonic short stories based on themes of death and horror."
